The world’s workforce is going through fundamental changes. How companies hire, retain and engage employees is a big challenge and opportunity, at the same time.

Damon O’Neill , Senior Specialist, Cloud HCM & Talent Management, Head of Cloud Business Development CEE @ SAP, shared the HR trends and challenges at CEE region and concluded:
“This really brings us to think about changing the way that traditional HR organizations design and deliver employee solutions. People are consuming information 24/7 on web enabled devices, meaning employees and managers are expecting access to the information they need whenever and wherever they want. Social networks are changing how we connect, collaborate and learn. The workforce is increasingly diverse across generations, cultures, gender, and so on, affecting everything from how we give feedback and reward performance to how we design the workplace. This new digital focus for HR is not simply about technology; it changes the way we serve and support employees. “Digital” is the world our employees live in and if we do not become part of it, then we cannot really do our jobs.”
People are the ones that make one organization more successful than another, as Damon said.
“Your People are the heartbeat of your organization. When they are engaged – feeling supported, trained, rewarded and motivated – they will do what it takes to win.”
Anelia Gorgorova , CEO at Key Success Indicators and Board Member of Bulgarian Association for People Management, described the HR trends and challenges in Bulgaria today. Anelia has gained deep business knowledge as a result of her more than 15 years professional HR experience. The focus in her presentation was on the strategic business role of the future HR and the importance of effective HR processes – more flexible, adaptive and close to the business goals. Companies should focus on the way they hire and engage their people enhancing their skills and knowledge transferring with new and flexible learning and development methods.
“What the business leaders expect from the HR is to be flexible, fast, competent, to have relevant information and quick access to people analytics that could drive to strategic decisions, to be close to people and business processes and to take part in solving management issues.”
At the end, Anelia asked the HR colleagues:
“Are you ready for the future?”
