Sofia – the digital capital of the new markets?
On 19-20 April the WEBIT.FESTIVAL in Sofia gathered 200+ global thought leaders, 5000+ attendees from Fortune 500 companies, major brands, policy makers, most innovative founders, scientists and hottest startups to pave the way to Europe’s digital future.
This edition of the festival was focused on Europe and especially the markets in Central and Eastern Europe. The program included Technology Conference, Marketing Conference, Innovation and Software Conference. Leaders in their domains presented their future visions and ongoing projects for Smart Cities, financial technologies, the future of space and transportation, Internet of Things and Digital Health.
A special area of the festival was devoted to different startups in the country and Europe. The program included a conference for entrepreneurs, meetings with investors, academy for startups and a special stage, where over 150 founders presented their companies to a panel of investors, the media and leaders of fortune 500 corporations. At the end of day 2 the startup project Adguard won the tough competition and was warded with € 200 000 in seed investment!
The event was held under the patronage of the President of Bulgaria – Mr. Rosen Plevneliev and the Mayor of Sofia Mrs. Yordanka Fandakova, who expressed their engagement and support for the development of the digital economy in Bulgaria.
